Red Storm over the Reich The Last Days of the Third Reich. Experience the cataclysmic final campaign of the Eastern Front in Red Storm over the Reich. Red Storm over the Reich covers one of the most dramatic and least gamed campaigns of the Second World War: the 1945 Soviet offensive through East Prussia, Poland, and Pomerania, across the River Oder and into the streets of Berlin itself. It was a Blitzkrieg that finally obliterated Nazi power and led to Hitler's suicide in the smoking ruins of the city. Created by award winning game designer Ted S. Raicer, Red Storm over the Reich is a true players game. As the Soviet player you will have to demonstrate the aggressive daring of Field Marshall Zhukov. Playing the Germans you will have to master the skills of General Guderian in desperate defense. The use of variable mechanics and infantry movement creates uncertainty and opportunity for both sides, and makes Red Storm an excellent choice for solo play as well. Beyond the historical campaign, Red Storm over the Reich includes two alternate history scenarios that allows for a more rational German defense and brings additional forces to the eastern front. Rules cover artillery, airpower, German pocket battleships and naval transport, Zhokov, German "Kampfgruppen" refugees, Operation Thunderclap (the Allied bombing of Dresden), German air ace Hans Rudel, "Roving cauldrons", Panzertauts, Hitler Mandated Attacks, and more! The Red Storm breaks over the Reich. The defender are ordered to fight to the last man. Will the war be over in May? Or will it go on..." Red Storm over the Reich is a two player game of the Soviet conquest of Nazi Germany, January to May 1945. Soviet units are corps, German units divisions and Kampfgruppen (battle groups). There is a historical scenario and two alternate history scenarios. The historical game takes 8-12 hours to complete. Red Storm over the Reich contains two 22" X 34" Playing Maps and 456 counter pieces.
